Ginny Roberts
She was ordained Skinny Ginny as a child; one look at her and it was a given. Blessed with knobby knees and a stick figure, names like High Pockets, Slim, Tall Glass of Water, and Stretch were also floated, but Skinny Ginny stuck. During the taller, skinnier and awkward adolescent years she consoled herself: at least they got half of the name right.
Over the years, Ginny used her camera as the instrument to capture stolen moments of stillness. Formal instruction came from studying at SVA and ICP; informal training was gleaned from her time as studio manager to a celebrity photographer. Add fifteen years in marketing, and the die was cast and an archive of imagery was developed.
